Welcome Dual Enrollment Students!

LBCC’s Early College Initiative (ECI) offers four early college programs that allow middle and/or high school students to enroll in and receive credit for college courses. These programs include: 

  1. Individual Dual Enrollment (IDE)
  2. College & Career Access Pathways (CCAP) Dual Enrollment (School Districts: Long Beach Unified School District, Norwalk/La Mirada School District, Intellectual Virtues Academy) 
  3. Early College @ Browning High School 
  4. High School Articulation (Credit-by-Exam)

STEP 1: Apply to LBCC

First, create an OPENCCC account and complete the online application below for the Summer/Fall or Winter/Spring semester at LBCC.

You will receive a welcome email with your ÃÈÃÃÊÓƵstudent ID number approximately 48-72 hours after you apply.

How to Apply to ÃÈÃÃÊÓƵfor Prospective Dual Enrolled Students?

STEP 2: Submit Dual Enrollment Form

Once you receive your Viking ID number, complete and submit the Dual Enrollment Form. Please ensure the form includes guardian and high school signatures.

STEP 3: Create Viking Portal & Complete the New Student Orientation

Set up your Viking Portal by using your 7-digit ÃÈÃÃÊÓƵViking ID# provided in your college acceptance email. Then, complete the New Student Orientation in your portal and complete the test with a passing score of 80% or higher. Orientation is required for all new students. 

(Please note this is a requirement to register for classes, including dual enrollment students, and a hold will be placed on your registration until this step is completed.)

STEP 4: Register for Classes

Eligible dual enrollment student will be able to register for classes during LBCC’s open registration.

(Individual Dual Enrollment students may have to pay for additional course material and student fees.)

 

REQUIRED

For Individual Dual Enrollment (Courses Taken at ÃÈÃÃÊÓƵIn-Person or Online), students are REQUIRED to pay for student fees ($40 – Fall/Spring, $30 Winter/Spring) and any other course material fees such as textbooks or school supplies

RECOMMENDATIONS

We highly recommend students to: 

  1. Meet with a Dual Enrollment Counselor to create an Educational Plan.
  2. Pick up Student ID at Student Life (LAC-B105 or PCC-EE)
