Vision

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) will provide the space for faculty to co-create solutions to transform the future of all students through inclusive and effective teaching. Faculty will strategically take risks, challenge assumptions, and explore new approaches through inquiry and reflection in pursuit of actions that foster student learning.

Mission

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is grounded in principles of transformative pedagogy which include a student-centered, evidence-based, institutionally focused, and action-oriented approach to instruction.  Through coordination and facilitation of professional learning, the CTL strives to cultivate an inclusive community that promotes reflective growth and professional transformation for all faculty.

Goals

CTL will offer broad support for teaching and learning through the following goals:

Goal 1 – Provide consultation and faculty support with coaches.

Goal 2 â€“ Facilitate faculty cohorts that utilize critical reflection to transform teaching practices. 

Goal 3 â€“ Facilitate connections for instructors to resources and the development of teaching networks for a scholarly and effective teaching culture.

Goal 4 â€“ Promote and advocate for a campus culture of scholarly and effective pedagogy and practice.

Goal 5 â€“ Provide instructors with opportunities and space to practice and apply scholarly and effective teaching practice.

Goal 6 â€“ Implement transformative teaching strategies to strengthen teacher satisfaction and professional growth.

Goal 7 â€“ Provide access to an archive of scholarly research and resources.
